Edo Queens gaffer Stanley Osaze Francis is confident his side will bounce back from defeat to Delta Queens at the ongoing 2021 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Super Six.
Edo Queens suffered a 1-2 defeat to their rivals in the opening day of the Super Six match played at the Otunba Dipo Dina Stadium in Ijebu Ode on Monday.
Confort Folunsho scored the winner after Nneka Julius equalized with a superb free-kick from about 23 yards to cancel out Delta Queen’s opening goal.
Speaking to the media after the match, coach Stanley said he’s satisfied with the performance of his team and assuring their fans that the team will bounce back.
“I am satisfied with their game and there is room for improvement.
It’s our first game and all hope is not lost. We still have to work on our next game.”
“I want to tell the fans that we are sorry for today by not winning. It’s quite disappointing but we will pick it up from our next game as we hope to make up in our next game.
Next for Edo Queens is the clash against Sunshine Queens at the same venue.
