During his youth, Dior’s family relocated to Paris, where he nurtured his love for art. Despite his artistic aspirations, he yielded to familial expectations and enrolled at the École des Sciences Politiques in 1925 to pursue political science, envisioning a future in diplomacy.

Following his graduation in 1928, Dior diverged from diplomatic pursuits and instead ventured into the art world. With financial backing from his father, he established a discreet art gallery that showcased esteemed artists like Georges Braque and Pablo Picasso. Despite its brief existence, the gallery served as a significant platform for influential artistic voices of the time.

After personal tragedies and economic setbacks led to the gallery’s closure in 1931, Dior transitioned to fashion illustration to sustain himself financially.
